A Prayer for a Good Day

Lord, I'd love a good day today. But teach me what good really is:

Not everything going my way, but You beside me whichever way it goes. Work that matters, honestly done. A kind word given, and maybe one received. Patience that outlasts my inconvenience. A grateful heart by nightfall.

If You give me an easy day, thank You. If You give me a hard one, stay close, and make something good of it anyway.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this while the day is still unwritten — over breakfast, on the walk to the bus, in the elevator. It's a good one to share with someone who says "have a good day" and means it.
