An Evening Prayer of Thanks

Thank You, Father, for this day now ending.

For food on the table and a place to sleep. For work done and rest coming. For the people who love me, and the mercy that met me every hour, seen and unseen.

I didn't earn a minute of it. Receive my thanks — it's all I have to give back tonight, and You've never asked for more.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this at the supper table, or as the last thing before lights out. On days when you can't think of anything to be thankful for, pray it anyway — the words will find something.
