A Morning Prayer for Strength and Focus
Lord, the day ahead is full, and I am not. Before I try to pour from an empty cup, fill me.
Give me strength — not the loud kind, just enough, hour by hour, for the work You've put in front of me.
Give me focus. You know how scattered my mind gets, how many tabs are open in my head. Gather my thoughts the way a shepherd gathers sheep, and set them on what matters.
When I'm interrupted, keep me patient. When I'm tempted to quit, keep me steady. When I'm tempted to do it all without You, stop me, gently, and remind me whose day this is.
At the end of it, let me look back and see not just what I finished, but the ways You were faithful.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this on mornings when the to-do list is longer than the day — before a big meeting, a long shift, or a stretch of work you're not sure you have the energy for. It works well at your desk, before you open anything else.
A Verse to Hold On To
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
