A Prayer for a Child Struggling at School

Father, my child is struggling at school, and I would trade places with them in a heartbeat if I could. You know how it hurts to watch — the slumped shoulders at the door, the homework battles at the kitchen table, the "I'm just stupid" that breaks me every time.

Lord, You made this child, and You made no mistakes. Help them believe that before the world convinces them otherwise.

If the problem is the learning, send the right help — a teacher who explains it a different way, a tutor, a test, an answer we haven't found yet. Give me the persistence to keep asking questions and the wisdom to hear the answers.

If the problem is other children, protect them. Put one true friend beside them in that cafeteria — sometimes one is all it takes.

If the problem is something they haven't told me, open the door for that conversation, Lord, and shut my mouth long enough to listen.

Give my child one small win this week — one solved problem, one kind word, one good day — and build on it. You are the God of turnarounds. Turn this around.

When to Pray This

Pray this after the hard drop-off, after the tough parent-teacher conference, or at the kitchen table when the homework tears have dried. Keep praying it — and keep talking with the school; teachers, counselors, and specialists are often part of how God answers.
