A Birthday Prayer

Father, thank You for this birthday — for one more turn around the sun, one more year of breath and mornings and people to love.

Thank You for every year that came before it: the good ones we still talk about at the table, and the hard ones that taught us to lean on You. Not one of them was wasted in Your hands.

Bless the year that starts today. Fill it with good health and honest work, with laughter that shows up uninvited, and with friends who stay past the cake.

Where this new year brings challenges, bring courage to match them. Where it brings joy, let it be shared and doubled.

You knew this day before there were any days — You wrote it down, and here we are, living it. So happy birthday, from all of us, and thank You, God, from all of us too.
