A Sunday Evening Prayer for the Week Ahead
Father, the weekend is almost over, and I can feel Monday standing at the door. Before I let it in, I want to talk to You.
You already know my week. You have seen the meetings I am dreading, the conversations I keep rehearsing, the deadlines, the appointments, and the things that will go wrong that I cannot see yet. None of it will surprise You.
So I hand You my calendar, Lord. Every square of it. Go ahead of me into each day and be there when I arrive.
Take the Sunday-night worry that creeps in at this hour and trade it for Your peace. Help me sleep tonight like someone whose week is already in good hands — because it is.
Give me strength for Monday, patience for Wednesday, and gratitude by Friday. And whatever this week holds, hold me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this on Sunday evening, when the weekend winds down and the week ahead starts to press in. It pairs well with laying out Monday's clothes or setting the alarm — small acts of trust before sleep.
A Verse to Hold On To
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
