A Prayer for Tomorrow
Father, tomorrow is already keeping me up tonight.
You know what's on the calendar — the meeting, the appointment, the conversation, the things I can name and the things I can't predict. My mind keeps rehearsing it, running every version of how it could go.
But here is the truth I keep forgetting: You are already there. Tomorrow is not waiting to happen to You the way it is to me. You stand in it right now, the same way You stand with me tonight.
So I am handing it over — the whole day. The parts I've prepared for and the parts I can't. The outcome I'm hoping for and the one I'm afraid of. If it goes the way I want, let me be grateful. If it doesn't, let me still be held.
You told us not to worry about tomorrow, and tonight I am taking You at Your word. Give me sleep now, and grace then.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this the night before anything that has your stomach in knots — an interview, a test result, a hard conversation, a first day. Say it as you set out tomorrow's clothes or turn off the light, as the last word on the matter.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself." — Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
