A Prayer for Discernment

Lord, so many voices are talking at once — the news, the crowd, my friends, my fears, and somewhere underneath them, You.

Tune my ear to Your voice.

Give me discernment: to tell the true from the almost-true, the good from the merely pleasant, the best from the good enough.

When something sounds right but sits wrong, let me notice. When something sounds hard but rings true, let me follow.

Make Your Word the lamp I check every other light against.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this before you take advice, sign up, buy in, or repeat what you just read. Discernment is a daily tool, not an emergency one — many people pray this each morning with their Bible still open.

A Verse to Hold On To

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." — Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
