A Prayer for a Safe Flight

Father, I am about to leave the ground, and I am placing myself in Your hands before I do.

Bless the pilots in the cockpit — give them sharp eyes, calm voices, and good judgment. Bless the crew walking the aisle, and the people in towers I will never see who guide this plane like a thread through a needle.

If the plane shakes, steady my heart. Remind me that turbulence is just the sky breathing, and that You are above the clouds and below them too.

Watch over every stranger buckled in beside me. Each one is flying toward someone, or away from something — be kind to all of us.

Bring the wheels down gently, Lord. Let the next voice I hear be the captain welcoming us safely to the ground.

When to Pray This

Pray this at the gate while they call the boarding groups, or in your seat while the safety demonstration plays. If flying frightens you, keep it open on your phone and pray it again at ten thousand feet — God does not mind repetition.
