A Prayer for Church Unity

Lord, make us one.

You prayed that Your people would be united, so we know this prayer is close to Your heart.

Where there is division among us, bring healing. Where feelings have been hurt, bring forgiveness. Where small differences have grown into walls, take them down, stone by stone.

Teach us to disagree without dividing, to listen before we answer, and to love the people we find difficult — because we are somebody's difficult person too.

Knit us together, Lord, one body, one spirit, one purpose: to know You and make You known.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this when tension rises in your congregation — after a hard business meeting, during a leadership transition, or any time you catch yourself keeping score against a brother or sister. It's best prayed before conflict grows, not just after.
