An Opening Prayer for a Meeting

Father, thank You for bringing us together today. Thank You for each person around this table, and for the time we've set aside for this work.

Quiet the noise we carried in with us — the full inboxes, the long to-do lists, the worries that followed us through the door. Help us be fully here.

Give us clear minds to see what matters, honest words spoken with kindness, and patient ears for one another. Where we disagree, keep us respectful. Where the way forward is unclear, give us wisdom.

Let the decisions we make today be good ones — good for the people we serve, and pleasing to You.

Bless our time together now, and bless the work that will follow it.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Read this aloud at the start of any meeting — a board meeting, a committee, a team huddle, a PTA night. It takes less than a minute and settles the room. If you're nervous, read slowly; slow always sounds confident.

A Verse to Hold On To

"And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us." — Psalm 90:17 (KJV)
