An Opening Prayer for Bible Study
Lord, thank You for gathering us around Your Word.
Open our eyes to see what You have written. Open our ears to hear what You are saying. Open our hearts to be changed by it.
Quiet our distractions. Set aside everything we carried in here tonight, and help us listen — really listen.
Speak to each of us right where we are, and don't let us leave the same as we came.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this just before you open your Bibles — at a small group, a Sunday class, or your own kitchen table. It works whether you're leading twenty people or studying alone.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." — Psalm 119:18 (KJV)
