A Prayer for Financial Provision
Father, You know the numbers. You have seen the bills on the counter and the math I keep doing in my head at night. I am worried about money, and I am bringing that worry to You instead of carrying it alone.
You taught us to ask for our daily bread, so that is what I ask: enough for today — food on the table, the rent or the mortgage, the light kept on. I trust You with tomorrow's needs tomorrow.
Give me wisdom with what is already in my hands. Show me what to cut, what to keep, when to ask for help and whom to ask. Take away the shame of needing — every person You ever fed had to be fed.
Guard my heart while I wait, Lord. Keep worry from turning into panic, and tight times from making me tight-fisted. Even now, let me notice someone worse off than I am and share something, however small.
However You choose to provide — through work, through kindness, through doors I cannot see yet — I will watch for Your hand, and I will thank You when I see it.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when the bills outweigh the paycheck, before a hard conversation about money, or on nights when worry keeps you awake. Pairing prayer with one practical step — a budget, a phone call, asking for help — is not a lack of faith; it's often how the answer comes.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap... yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" — Matthew 6:26 (KJV)
