A Prayer to Love Again Someday
Lord, something in me is stirring that I thought was gone: the wish to love again.
I'm not asking You to rush me. The last hurt taught my heart to flinch, and unlearning that will take time. But don't let the flinch become a wall.
Finish healing the old wound first — heal it clean, so I don't hand the next person a bill that someone else ran up.
Teach me, in the meantime, to be the kind of person worth finding: honest, kind, whole on my own. And if there is someone out there You have in mind, get us both ready — and let me trust Your timing more than my loneliness.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when the grief has softened and you notice yourself hoping again — however long that took. It's a good prayer for quiet Sunday evenings, and a gentle way to check your heart before you start something new.
A Verse to Hold On To
