A Mealtime Prayer for Children
Thank You, God, for food to eat. Thank You for this time to meet. Thank You for my family near, and for Your love that's always here.
Bless our food and bless our day. We love You, God. It's fun to pray!
Amen.
When to Pray This
This one is for the smallest voices at the table — the rhyme makes it easy to memorize by age three or four. Say it together a few times, then let your child lead it; being the one who says grace is a big honor when you're little. Folded hands and closed eyes optional, giggles allowed.
A Verse to Hold On To
"O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." — Psalm 136:1 (KJV)
