A Prayer Before Eating

Father, we pause before we eat to remember where this food came from: from Your earth, through many hands, to our table.

Thank You for this meal and for every meal — for the ones who grew it, the ones who made it, and the ones we share it with.

Bless this food to our bodies, and our lives to Your service. And feed those, Lord, who have no table like this one.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this before any meal — spoken by one person or read together around the table. It's short enough to memorize after a few uses, which is how a grace becomes a family's own. If you're eating with guests of different backgrounds, slow down and say it warmly; a sincere grace welcomes everyone.

A Verse to Hold On To

"The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season." — Psalm 145:15 (KJV)
