A Prayer for Safe Delivery
Lord, the waiting is almost over. The bag is packed, the little clothes are folded, and now we bring You the one thing we cannot pack: our trust.
Be with this mother in the hours of labor. Give her strength when the work is hard, breath when she needs to breathe, and courage she did not know she had. Stay so close that even in the pain she knows she is not doing this alone.
Guard the baby through every contraction, every push, every minute of the journey from the world You made inside her to the world waiting outside.
Steady the hands of the doctors, midwives, and nurses. Give them sharp eyes, calm voices, and wise decisions. If anything unexpected comes, let them meet it with skill, and let peace hold this room.
And Lord — let there be that cry. That first, furious, beautiful cry, and a healthy child laid on his mother's chest. We are asking You for a good day, Father. We are trusting You with all of it.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this in the final weeks of pregnancy, on the drive to the hospital, or in the waiting room while labor is underway. Fathers, grandmothers, and friends often pray it word for word while they wait for news.
A Verse to Hold On To
