A Veterans Day Prayer of Gratitude

God of peace, today we thank You for our veterans — for every man and woman who answered the call to serve, in seasons of war and seasons of quiet.

Thank You for their courage, their sacrifice, and the years of their lives given for the rest of us.

Heal the wounds they carry home — the ones we can see, and the ones we cannot. Give them rest for weary memories, good work for willing hands, and neighbors who honor them beyond a single day.

Bless the families who served alongside them through every deployment and every homecoming.

Be their refuge and their fortress, Lord, as You have been all along.

Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this on Veterans Day, at a school or community observance, or at dinner with a veteran you love. If you know a veteran carrying invisible wounds, pray it for them by name — and remember that encouraging them toward counseling or the VA is part of the answer.

A Verse to Hold On To

"I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." — Psalm 91:2 (KJV)
