A Prayer for Humility
Lord, quiet the part of me that always needs to be right, to be noticed, to be first.
It is loud, and it is tired, and it has never once made me happy.
Give me instead the freedom of the low place — to admit when I am wrong, to clap for someone else's win, to serve without checking who saw.
You knelt and washed feet, Lord. Whatever You were teaching that night, teach it to me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this after an argument you had to win, before a meeting where you want to shine, or any time praise or criticism has knocked you off balance. It is short enough to pray in the moment.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." — James 4:10 (KJV)
