A Prayer for My Father

Father in heaven, thank You for my dad. Thank You for the things he said, and for the love he showed in ways he never said at all — the early mornings, the long shifts, the door always left unlocked.

Strengthen him today. Guard his health, steady his heart, and give him peace about the things he still worries over.

Let him know he is not just respected but loved. And where the years have left any distance between us, close it, Lord, while there is still time.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this on Father's Day, on his birthday, or before you pick up the phone to call him. It's a good prayer for sons and daughters who love their dad but don't always know how to say it.
