A Prayer for My Grandchildren's Protection

Lord, keep my grandchildren safe. The world they are growing up in moves faster than the one I knew, and I can't be everywhere they go. But nothing about their world surprises You.

Guard their bodies — on the playground, in the car, on the practice field, walking home, and everywhere in between. Guard their minds from what the screens would teach them before their hearts are ready. Guard their hearts from cruelty, from fear, and from friends who pull them the wrong way.

Send Your angels ahead of them, Lord, the way You promised — to keep them in all their ways. And when trouble comes near, put good adults in the right place at the right time: teachers who notice, neighbors who care, parents who listen.

I cover them with prayer today because it reaches farther than my arms can. Keep them, Lord. They are Yours.

When to Pray This

Pray this on the first day of school, before road trips, or any night the news leaves you worried for the little ones. Many grandparents pray it every morning as a covering over the day.
