A Prayer for My Husband's Health

Father, I come to You about my husband's health. You knit his body together; You know it better than any test or chart ever will.

Strengthen him, Lord. Touch whatever is worn, weakened, or hurting, and restore what the years and the stress have taken. Give him good sleep — real sleep — and the kind of appetite for life I remember in his eyes.

You know he doesn't like to make a fuss. Give him the humility to rest when he needs to, to say yes to the checkup, to take seriously the body You gave him. Bless the doctors and nurses who care for him; give them wisdom, and give him trust.

And Lord, hold my heart too. Worry for him wakes me in the night sometimes. When it does, let me hand him back to You — because he was Yours before he was mine, and Your love for him is older than ours.

Whatever these days hold, walk through them with us.

Pray this when he's fighting something — an illness, a diagnosis, or just years of running on empty. It's also a good prayer for the night before a doctor's appointment, for both of you.
