A Prayer for My Wife

Father, thank You for my wife. Of all the gifts You have given me, she is the one I most often forget to thank You for. I thank You now.

You see everything she carries — the work that is noticed and the work that never is, the people she holds together, the tiredness she doesn't always mention. Renew her strength, Lord. Give her real rest, deep joy, and moments in her day that are just hers.

Guard her heart when the world is unkind. Remind her that her worth was settled by You long ago and does not rise or fall with anyone's opinion. Surround her with friends who love her well.

And teach me to love her the way You do — patiently, attentively, without keeping count. Make me quick to listen, honest and gentle, the kind of husband whose love makes her braver.

Keep us close, Lord — to each other and to You — through every season we are given.

Pray this in the quiet of the morning before she wakes, or on days when you can tell she's carrying more than she says. Praying for her regularly will change how you see her.
