A Prayer for Endurance
Lord, this is not a sprint, and I am tired of running.
Give me endurance — the plain, unglamorous strength that gets up each morning and simply continues.
I don't ask You to shorten the road. I ask You to lengthen my stride, deepen my breath, and keep my eyes on where we're going.
Daily bread was Your idea, Father. So I'll stop asking for a year's strength at once and just take today's portion, with thanks.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this in the long middle of anything — caregiving, treatment, a hard job, a slow rebuild. It's short on purpose, so you can pray it every single day.
A Verse to Hold On To
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever." — Psalm 73:26 (KJV)
