A Prayer for the Sick
God of all comfort, I pray for the sick today — the ones I know by name, and the ones known only to You.
For those in hospital beds, be their peace. For those sick at home, be their patience. For those waiting on test results, be their calm. For those in pain right now, this very minute, be their relief.
You are not far from any of them, Lord. You count their sleepless hours. You hear the prayers they are too tired to finish.
Bless every doctor, nurse, and caregiver on duty today. Steady their hands. Sharpen their judgment. And when their shift is long, renew their compassion.
Bring healing where healing can come, comfort where the road is hard, and hope everywhere, always — because You are good, and Your mercy does not run out.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
This prayer suits a church service, a family dinner grace, or a quiet moment when the news of someone's illness reaches you. Pray it slowly, and add names where they belong.
A Verse to Hold On To
