A Prayer While Waiting for Test Results

Lord, the results are not in yet, but my mind has already run ahead to every dark possibility. Call my thoughts back, and hold them still.

You already know what the tests will say. Nothing in that report will change who You are or how You love.

While I wait, keep me from rehearsing fear. When the call comes, be on the line with me. And whatever the news, give me what I will need for that day — not before, and not less.

When to Pray This

Pray this in the days between the test and the phone call — the waiting that can feel harder than the test itself. Pray it each time the what-ifs start up again. It is also a good prayer to send to someone else who is waiting on results.
